Fiorentina’s treatment table continues to crowd with the news that Mati Fernandez will spend the next 10 days on the sidelines with a groin injury.
The Chilean midfielder was forced off during the latter part of the Viola’s 1-1 draw with Milan on Sunday, and tests have concluded that the 28-year-old has suffered a knock to his adductor.
This will now certainly see the player miss upcoming clashes with Udinese and Sampdoria.

“ACF Fiorentina announce that the player Matias Fernandez, who was replaced during the match with Milan last night following a thigh muscle problem, was today subjected to diagnostic tests which revealed an injury to the adductor magnus muscle of the left thigh,” reads a statement on Fiorentina’s official website.
“The necessary treatment has already begun and will continue with this for a further 10 days, subject to any new developments.”
Fernandez’s setback comes just days after David Pizarro’s, but Fiorentina have been handed a boost with Mario Gomez’s return to training.
Although the former Bayern Munich striker is unlikely to feature against the Zebrette on Wednesday, it is seen that there is a distinct possibility that he could make an appearance at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris next weekend.
