Gerardo Martino has recalled Carlos Tevez to the Argentina squad after more than three years away for the striker.

The Juventus man played his last game for the Seleccion in 2011 at the Copa America, having since fallen out of favour during the final three years of Alejandro Sabella’s reign.

However, since replacing him at the helm, Tata Martino has opened the door to Tevez and followed up on recent hints by today naming him in his latest squad for the friendlies against Croatia and Portugal that will be played in November at Upton Park and Old Trafford respectively.

The 25-man squad includes other five Serie A names in the form of Juventus midfielder Roberto Pereyra, Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia, Fiorentina defender Facundo Roncaglia and Sampdoria goalkeeper Sergio Romero.
