Milan full-back Ricardo Rodriguez is stuck in limbo, as Fenerbahce can’t buy due to FFP restrictions and he has rejected PSV Eindhoven.

The Swiss international is not part of new coach Stefano Pioli’s plans and has been on the transfer market for several weeks now.

It seemed as if his exit was imminent when both PSV and Fenerbahce made similar offers, the player leaning firmly towards the Turkish option.

However, Fenerbahce President Ali Koc confirmed last night that the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) had slammed the brakes on the deal.

However, Fenerbahce President Ali Koc confirmed last night that the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) had slammed the brakes on the deal.

“As of today, we cannot buy any new players, the TFF told us this decision,” Koc told reporters.

“Obviously, we will immediately appeal. I hope and trust the arbitration process will be quick, because this is a matter of urgency.”

The good news for Fenerbahce is that Sportitalia report Rodriguez has his heart set on them and is prepared to wait rather than accept PSV.

This is not so positive for Milan, who want to cash in on the left-back as soon as possible to reinvest in other targets.

Fenerbahce need to sell before they can purchase and Inter could come to their rescue, in advanced negotiations with Chelsea to interrupt the Victor Moses loan in Turkey.
