With a move to Dalian Yifang imminent, Richard Hamsik has explained the delay in confirming the deal and the reasons behind his son’s departure.

“There is nothing official yet, in football I never say never but I hope everything will be completed in 48 hours,” he told the Slovakian media.

“The negotiations have dragged on because of Chinese New Year.

“Marek was frustrated and unhappy last year because of the failure to win the Scudetto. This year, he was worried about not being able to play consistently and so he decided on a change.

“In the summer, the Coach convinced him to stay but then the offer from China arrived again. He would never accept any other offers.”
