Napoli had the chance to win their first Scudetto in 33 years today, but their draw with Salernitana means they’ll have to wait a little while longer, something that has upset supporters.
The Partenopei put themselves ahead after 62 minutes at a packed Stadio Diego Armando Maradona and things were looking good, with flares being lit and a party atmosphere ready to explode in joy.
Unfortunately for Napoli and their fans, Salernitana and Boulaye Dia had other ideas. The Granata found an equaliser in the 84th minute of the match and the home side were unable to respond, forcing them to share points with their local rivals after the full-time whistle.
Napoli will now have to wait until their away clash with Udinese on May 4 to lift the Scudetto, should they win that game.
