Como midfielder Cesc Fabregas says the Serie B side will help him become a coach and suggests Leo Messi could return to Barcelona.

The 35-year-old joined Como as a free agent in the summer and has already collected two appearances in Serie B. But how did they persuade him to join the club?

“I like the project they have in hand,” Fabregas told RAC1. “They offered me shares in the club and they are helping me prepare to be a coach. In addition, it is a spectacular city.”

Would he like to return to Barcelona as a coach?

“It cannot be denied that when you have loved Barça so much, it is a dream to be able to coach them,” he said. “But you have to work hard and be very competent to take on a challenge like this.”

Fabregas hopes Leo Messi will return to Barcelona but suggests the Catalans may not be open to his comeback.

“It could be an option if Barça were open to it. It doesn’t just depend on him, it also depends on the club.”

Fabregas has won one World Cup and two European championships with Spain, including one in 2012 when La Roja beat Cesare Prandelli’s Italy 4-0 in the Final.

The former Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder is one of the most winning players of his generation but has never won the Champions League.

However, he lifted the Premier League title twice with Chelsea and became Spanish champion with Barcelona in 2012-13.
