The FIGC’s commissioner Roberto Fabbricini confirms that Roberto Mancini will be the new Italy CT – “it’s done”.
The Coach met with the Federation today after resolving his contract with Zenit St Petersburg, and he’ll take the Azzurri job in the coming days.
“They’re working at the Federation,” Fabbricini confirmed at the Premio Beppe Viola.
“There are some details to be worked out but we can say that Mancini as Italy’s commissario tecnico is done.

“There’s satisfaction, the most important thing is that he repeatedly said how much he wanted to be on this bench, not so much as a personal matter but to seal a career in which he’s worn many important shirts.”
CONI President Giovanni Malago also spoke briefly to the reporters present about the incoming Italy boss.
"Mancini has to talk to the Federation, he's already done the first thing because he's in discussions.
"He was willing to give up two years of a mega-contract in Russia, and that shows he wants to get involved."
