Samir Handanovic, who is a free agent after leaving Inter, has been offered to Lazio by his entourage, reports suggest.

The 39-year-old Slovenian shot stopper ended an 11-year association with the Nerazzurri last month, looking for one last adventure in the twilight of his career. He lost his starting spot to Andre Onana last season, pushing him to carefully consider his future.

Lazio are on the hunt for a new backup goalkeeper and are ready to sell Luis Maximiano to Almeria. A favourite option was Sampdoria’s Emil Audero, but he’s now on the verge of completing a move to Inter.

As reported by Goal Italia, Handanovic’s entourage have been in contact with Lazio to propose the 39-year-old, keen to find him a new club before the start of the season later this month.

The Slovenian shot stopper has a history with the Biancocelesti, briefly spending six months in the Italian capital from January to June 2006.
