Everton are reportedly looking to make a move for Atalanta forward Duvan Zapata and have made an approach to the Bergamo club.

The Premier League side currently sit 19th in the league table after 19 games and look at serious risk of suffering relegation to the Championship, a disastrous thought for the Blues faithful. Toxicity is starting to grow around Everton and the club are hoping to find the right reinforcements this month to help them escape the relegation zone.

As reported by L’Eco di Bergamo and Il Giorno, Everton are interested in signing Zapata this month and have contacted Atalanta to discuss a possible deal.

The English club are hoping to pick him up on a loan deal with a €15m buy option attached, but the Bergamo side would only consider a definitive transfer. The two parties could meet in the middle and agree a loan deal with an obligation to buy clause attached.

Zapata has scored 80 goals and provided 40 assists for Atalanta since his arrival from Sampdoria in July 2018.
