La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Italy CT Roberto Mancini will pick Marco Verratti over Manuel Locatelli and looks at the potential penalty takers against Austria.

The Azzurri prepare for the last 16 clash at Wembley on Saturday, when the match kicks off at 20.00 UK time.

The newspaper claims Verratti was preferred over Locatelli at training yesterday, and the Paris Saint-Germain star should take place in the midfield trident next to Jorginho and Nicolò Barella.

But the report points out that the Sassuolo player is still in the running for a place in the line-up, even if the former Pescara midfielder has always been considered a starter by Mancini.

Francesco Acerbi seems set to start next to Leonardo Bonucci at centre-back, whilst Giovanni Di Lorenzo continues to replace Alessandro Florenzi at right in defence.

Continuing based on what happened on the training ground yesterday, the Azzurri are already preparing for a potential penalty shootout.

Jorginho, Ciro Immobile, Acerbi, Domenico Berardi and Bonucci are the five names listed as potential penalty takers on Saturday.
