Samuel Eto’o is “working towards coming to Sampdoria” and “optimistic,” said the Everton striker’s agent.

Claudio Vigorelli was in the stands for Samp’s 1-0 win over Empoli on Sunday and had a more formal meeting with the directors on Monday.

“The only uncertainty is the salary, but I am optimistic,” Vigorelli told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We will continue working towards coming to Sampdoria.”

Everton left Eto'o out of the squad for tonight's FA Cup game at West Ham, where he is not even on the bench.
