Sassuolo’s director general Giovanni Carnevali insists “no official offer” from Napoli for Gregoire Defrel, but bids have come from England and Spain.

The French forward has been linked with the Partenopei in January, and scored a late equaliser for the Neroverdi at San Paolo on Monday.

“Defrel is one of four foreigners in our team, and we signed him [from Cesena] because he has significant potential,” Carnevali said on Radio Goal.

“It’s not our intention to sell him, especially in January. The winter market is for making improvements.

“We haven’t had any official offer from Napoli, never mind one which would please us. I can tell you: he’s very well liked by foreign clubs.

“There have been offers from the Premier League and La Liga.”

Another of Sassuolo’s assets is their Coach, Eusebio Di Francesco.

“Di Francesco chose to stay with Sassuolo. The Europa League has improved everyone, including on the board, and we’re glad to go out of it with our heads held high.

“I consider our Coach one of the best in Italy, and not just here.”
