Italy’s Group D opponents England have drawn their final pre-World Cup friendly 0-0 with Honduras.

Roy Hodgson named what many considered to be his full-strength team for the game in Miami on Saturday night, bringing back Joe Hart, Steven Gerrard and Daniel Sturridge.

But it was events off the pitch that livened up the occasion as the game was suspended for 40 minutes midway through the first half because of electrical storms in south Florida.

It affected the tempo of the match, and it wasn’t until the second 45 that the Three Lions got into their stride as the minnows were reduced to 10-men.

Ross Barkley and Adam Lallana looked dangerous on the ball, but they couldn’t find a way past the Central American goalkeeper.

England flew to Rio overnight where they will prepare for the clash with the Azzurri in Manaus next Saturday.
