Empoli have announced that the five players who tested positive for COVID last month are now clear and can resume training.

The unnamed players had been part of an outbreak at the club during their pre-season preparations on July 23.

There were six who tested positive, between players and staff, but they have now been given the all-clear after testing negative.

They must undergo the mandatory FIGC fitness tests before they can be allowed to resume training with the rest of their teammates.
