Empoli Coach Giovanni Martusciello does not believe his side’s clash with Pescara is a ‘crossroads.'

The Azzurri have, unbelievably, scored only two goals in their opening 11 matches of the Serie A campaign and on Sunday travel to face the team immediately above them in the table.

With Empoli 18th and the Delfini 17th, many are billing the meeting at Stadio Adriatico as key in the relegation battle, but the Coach views it as just another match.

“It is a match that we have to live like any other, it is not a crossroads,” Martusciello told a Press conference.

“It definitely is an important game though, the stakes are high because we are in the same position in the table.

“Maybe for them it’s a crossroads because they are playing at home.

“We need to approach the match in the right way.

“We need to interpret the game well, put in the desire to suffer and remind ourselves that nothing will be gifted to us.”
