Empoli are reportedly closing in on a double deal for Zenit St Petersburg defender Miha Mevlja and Basel striker Dimitri Oberlin.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, the pair will arrive on loan with options to buy.
Mevlja is a 28-year-old Slovenia international who had also been linked with Inter as a possible replacement for Miranda.
Oberlin is 21, can play anywhere across the front line and already has a cap for Switzerland, although he has scored just once this season.
