“This break for international duty is important for the team, because it allows us to work,” the Dutchman told Milan Channel.
“At the moment we feel some pressure on us because of the lack of results, but we must get back to winning ways straight away from the game with Genoa. The Celtic match in Glasgow is also one we absolutely have to win.”
Kaka is one of the oldest players in the squad, though he has brought his usual commitment to the cause.
“Christian Abbiati, Daniele Bonera and Kaka are very important, as they represent the old guard. Ricky is like a captain. He trains so hard and is fundamental for us.”
The real captain’s armband belongs to Riccardo Montolivo, though Kaka has worn it this season in his absence.
“The recovery from injury will also be decisive. Stephan El Shaarawy and Mattia De Sciglio can give us a big hand.
“Mattia is incredible, as he’s only 19 and already a phenomenon. He will be the future of Milan.”
