There are reports Eleven Sports, who transmit Serie A and La Liga games in the UK, could close down after just four months.
According to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, the football rights for Serie A and La Liga will be returned to agent IMG, who can sell them on to another entity.
Eleven Sports are currently available on streaming in the UK and Ireland, but had hoped to do deals with Sky or Virgin to carry their channels.
That failed to materialise and UFC have triggered an exit clause in their contract.
