Fiorentina striker Mounir El Hamdaoui has criticised Italian football, after just three months in Serie A.

The Moroccan forward joined the Viola over the summer from Ajax, and has called football on the peninsula 'defensive'.

“I feel fine,” he told Radio Blu. “But I know that people expect me to get goals. Italian football tends to be defensive, and this is a problem for us strikers.

“With Fiorentina though, we always try to play football the right way.”

The 28-year-old has so far started to just one League game at Stadio Artemip Franchi, failing to find the net.
