“We must do well to bring something out of ourselves. Football gives you the chance to react and we are fortunate to immediately have this opportunity to play for a Champions League quarter-final,” the Coach told RAI Sport.

“We need to get a positive result and it won’t be an easy game for either side, as Porto have to score. I’d build on the convincing performance from the first leg.”

Di Francesco was asked whether the team is fully behind him.

“This is your sort of thing, it doesn’t interest me. If I am here, it’s because I believe that I can do well for Roma. In football and in life, you must be able to prove yourself constantly. We are judged more on results than the work we did to get there.

“That means I must try to bring home this quarter-final qualification.”
