Luciano Spalletti’s team let yet another lead slip as they failed to beat relegation strugglers Crotone at the San Siro, having to settle for a fourth successive 1-1 draw.

It means that having been in the Scudetto race in early December, the Nerazzurri are now struggling to cling onto a Champions League place.

“It’s a period where things are not going well,” Eder, who scored yesterday evening, admitted. “At the start, things were going differently.

“I’m thinking about the goals conceded against Fiorentina and SPAL. But it’s up to us to change our course.

“We are in the Champions League places and nobody has gifted us anything. We are missing at least eight points, with them we would have an excellent position in the table.”

Inter have failed to win in Serie A since a 5-0 victory over Chievo on December 3 and their last five matches have ended in draws.

“It’s not enough to draw. It’s true that we aren’t losing, but we are Inter and we have to win.

“We need to give our best for the fans who never leave us. These moments in football happen, we take the positives.

“We will get out of it together because this team has character. We will work even harder next week in order to get back to winning ways against Bologna.”
