Former Jiangsu Suning FC striker Eder looks back at his May warning that Inter would be dismantled the way his Chinese club was, as Romelu Lukaku heads to Chelsea. ‘I was 100m off…’

The Brazilian spent most of his career in Italy with Empoli, Frosinone, Brescia, Cesena, Sampdoria and Inter, leaving for their sister club Jiangsu Suning FC in 2018.

However, the Chinese Super League club was dissolved in February 2021, just months after winning the title for the first time in their history, due to Suning’s financial difficulties.

At the time, Eder had written this message on Twitter.

“They threw away all the great work we’d done. From the players, staff and directors. And now they’re doing it all again at Inter, ruining everything coach Conte achieved. Because they need 100m in their pockets. They couldn’t care less about football or their employees.”

That was when Achraf Hakimi was on the verge of moving to Paris Saint-Germain for €70m, but now another big star name Lukaku is heading to Chelsea for €115m.

So Eder posted an update, referencing his previous tweet.

“I was 100m off…”

  1. Well, Suning took a loan to buy players, paid interest on these loans and year 1 Inter won squat! Year 2 they doubled down, came last in the Champions League group stage and finally won a trophy now they have to pay back the money that was not theirs in the first place ! see you Interisti in 2032 !
