“There are no easy game in this Euros, as proved by Spain, Germany and France. We believed until the end, did better in the second half and in the end I think we deserved the victory,” the Inter striker told Rai Sport.

“Let’s see where we end up, the important thing is that we have no regrets, as the Coach said.

Yet many had called for Eder to be dropped from the squad, let alone the starting XI.

“In football you can have bad moments, then great moments like this come along and it’s all worth it. I hadn’t played much for Inter lately, so worked alone at home to get myself up to full fitness and I think it paid off.”
