Edin Dzeko lodged an appeal to reduce his three-match ban and is “not worried” about Roma’s Scudetto chances.

The striker was suspended for yesterday’s 3-3 draw at Chievo and today gave his testimony at an appeal to have the ban cut ahead of this weekend's clash with Milan.

“We’ll see what will be decided and that’s all I can say. I am desperate to get back, football is my life and I can’t wait to be back to try and help the team in the next games,” Dzeko told reporters.

“With so many players missing yesterday I think the team did well. Obviously it was not enough to win the game and we definitely lost the two points yesterday, as we were unlucky not to get the win.

"The guys gave everything and fought until the last minute. Sometimes you have to take a point. We have the next game at home and will try to win.”

Is Dzeko worried that this spells the end of their Scudetto chances?

“No, I wouldn’t say that. There’s still 18 games to play, so there are a lot of points up for grabs.”

Teenage striker Umar Sadiq has scored two goals in as many matches this season.

“I think Sadiq is a very talented player who one day can be a very important player for Roma. Everyone is very happy for Sadiq as he is working very hard and deserved these goals, hopefully there will be many more goals in future.”
