“I admit it, I haven’t started like last year or even 2016,” Dybala told Gazzetta dello Sport while on international duty with Argentine.

“One thing is certain, I can’t wait to get back to Turin and work hard to regain my place with Juve.

“I definitely want to come back and play, I’ll be there today and I want to be ready for Sunday. Wednesday is the Champions League against Valencia, and that’s a competition that gives me so much motivation.

“Cristiano Ronaldo? I told myself that after having the chance to play with [Leo] Messi in the national team, now I have the chance to play with Ronaldo at Juventus.

“There’s a great relationship with him, we just need to keep training – we’ve got the whole season.”

Dybala also discussed Argentina, including his brother’s controversial tweet.

“I came here with a huge desire to work, with new coaches who transmit positivity and send beautiful messages.

“We’re a very good group, young and ambitious. That’s why it’s a competitive environment.

“The Coach [Lionel Scaloni] talked to me about being benched, I arrived late and they’d been working all week so the Coach made a choice that I respect.

“I have to show that I deserve my place and I have to adapt to Scaloni’s chosen formation. He’s changed to a 4-3-3 and when I arrived late it was difficult for me to adapt to that in one day.

“As for my brother’s tweet, it’s all behind us now. Sometimes things get you fired-up and maybe you end up writing things you later regret.

“All your family members want you to play all the time, but there have been no repercussions, we already clarified it with Scaloni.”
