The 18-year-old completed a move to Fiorentina on deadline day, but he made it clear he was only grateful to the Reds of helping him develop as a player.

“I want to thank everybody at Liverpool from the coaches, staff and players for contributing in my development at the club I move on with special memories… Thank you,” he tweeted.

The England youth striker scored 32 goals for Liverpool’s Under-18 team last season and is the cousin of Anfield legend Steven Gerrard.
