According to English newspaper the Daily Mirror, the Red Devils have identified the Italian as a possible successor to David De Gea, who may still decide his long-term future lies with Real Madrid.

The Old Trafford club, who have been monitoring the youngster's displays throughout the campaign, are said to be willing to pay a fee of up to £40m for Donnarumma's services.

United are not, however, the only club said to be interested. Cross-city rivals Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are all named as possible destinations for the player.
