Napoli are in the process of exchanging documents with Tottenham Hotspur for Tanguy Ndombele, who has his medical tomorrow, on loan with option to buy for €32.5m.

The midfielder is expected to fly in either late tonight or tomorrow morning, when he will have the tests on Thursday and sign the contract.

Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio notes the fee for the one-season loan is €1m, while Napoli will have an option to make it permanent for a further €32.5m.

The 25-year-old has seven senior caps for France and his contract with Spurs runs to June 2025.

He was purchased for a massive €60m from Olympique Lyonnais in 2019, but struggled to make his mark in London, scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists in 91 competitive matches.

There was a loan spell at his old club Lyon from January to June 2022.

Ndombele is the replacement for Fabian Ruiz, who is on the verge of a transfer to PSG for circa €20m plus bonuses, if he can agree personal terms.

The Partenopei have warned Fabian Ruiz that if he does not leave this summer, he will be left in the stands until the January transfer window opens.
