Giulio Donati admits Fiorentina “are one of my options for the future” if he should leave Bayer Leverkusen.

The former Italy Under-21 international and Inter right-back has been linked with a return to Serie A after two years in the Bundesliga.

“We have just started pre-season training in Germany and are evaluating some options with Bayer, including the idea of staying in Leverkusen,” he told Pentasport.

“Could I go to Fiorentina? My agent spoke to their director Daniele Pradè and Fiorentina are one of my options for the future.

“I’d be happy to play for the Viola, because they are a great club with a stable project. Paulo Sousa is a very good Coach who has proved his worth.”

Now 25, Donati had a contract with Bayer Leverkusen until June 2017.
