“It was a game we played for 40 minutes with 10 men and used up a lot of energy, but we should’ve had that same determination in the first half too. We shot ourselves in the foot,” Donadoni told Sky Sport Italia.
“Last week we lost against a quality side like Inter, while again today we did not deserve defeat.”
Their chances were hampered by Felipe’s red card for punching Luca Rossettini and his furious reaction after the dismissal promise a lengthy ban.
“It was a mistake someone of Felipe’s experience cannot make. It was incredibly stupid and completely unjustifiable. He is the first to be upset, but the damage has been done.”
Donadoni was asked whether he’d be in the running for the Milan bench.
“I have always had an excellent rapport with the fans, but I have nothing to clarify because the situation has nothing to do with me.”
