“I’m here because I believe that this club should look forward,” the man sacked by Cagliari in August noted.
“This team has to firstly catch and them overtake the sides which are currently ahead of us in the standings.
“Parma are not a club which should just have safety as its only objective. It’s not in my plans or those of the club to look over our shoulders…”
Donadoni had a stellar playing career at club and international level, but his coaching adventure has been tough with problematic spells at Livorno, Genoa, Italy, Napoli and Cagliari.
“I’ve always had a positive approach in my career,” continued the 48-year-old. “I’m strongly ambitious and we want to build something important here on a daily basis.”
Donadoni, whose Parma side are 15th in the table and seven points above the relegation zone, was then questioned about tactics.
“I started my career with the idea of using a certain system and then I realised that my squad wouldn’t allow that,” he continued.
“I then went to a 4-3-3 and that didn’t work either. You need to be elastic…
“What is certain is that my team must only think about their style of play and not that of whichever opponent we are facing.
“I know a few players in the squad and this could be an advantage.”
Parma, who haven’t won in their last six Serie A games, are next in action at the weekend when they entertain Siena.
“I’m proud to be here and I bring my experience, as well as my hunger, to this job,” concluded the tactician.
