Bologna Coach Roberto Donadoni praises his team’s ‘conviction’ and ‘self-belief’ after their win against Napoli.

The Rossoblu stunned Maurizio Sarri’s Scudetto contenders with a 3-2 win on Sunday, the latest positive result since Donadoni’s arrival.

However, despite the club’s turnaround in fortunes since his arrival, the Coach warned that ‘it’s not right’ to blame his predecessor Delio Rossi for all the previous difficulties.

"The team interpreted this week in the right way, understanding what needed to be done,” Donadoni told Radio Anch’io lo Sport.

“On the level of conviction, they took to the pitch in the right way. Against Napoli it’s not enough to just do the normal things but we must go further, the added value was to believe more in themselves.

“If you are in a very difficult situation in the table, it’s normal to be nervous, especially if you have so many young people in the team.

“The match yesterday was symbolic: they all helped each other.

“At 3-0 I didn’t expect to concede two goals in five minutes, but if you're facing Higuain anything can happen in a short time.

“It’s true that the President is a foreigner, but the base of the company is Italian, from Corvino to Di Vaio.

“There are important ideas for the future, now we have to be good to stay up and do the best we can.

"It’s not right to give Rossi all the responsibility for the initial difficulties. Let's say there wasn’t that chemistry with the players that you need to achieve certain results.”
