Roberto Donadoni feels Cagliari did as well as they could and refused to criticise the referee for Inter's goal.

The Sardinians were only beaten by a controversial Houssine Kharja strike, as Andrea Ranocchia was offside.

“It happened, so there's no point going back over the incident now. We could talk about that forever and there would probably still be some disagreement.

“We played a good game, but were missing that little bit of belief that would've allowed us to really get Inter in trouble. That is our only regret.

“I could not have asked for any more than that from my lads and they gave Inter a lot of problems. In the first half we didn't move the ball around well enough, but really improved that after the break.

“We created two or three really clear-cut scoring opportunities, but again were lacking determination to finish them off. Leonardo's side are very experienced and knew when it was right to attack and when to defend.”
