“For the last four days the lads have been eating at a different time than usual to help prepare for this game. It does change your rhythms,” said the Coach.

“Considering the time of year, playing at this time may well be better than at night, so we want to make the circumstances work for us.

“Genoa are hungry and determined, renewing their squad almost completely over the January transfer window. It’s important to get a result, but to do that we need a strong performance.

“Whoever I pick to start or come off the bench, the important thing is that they play with the right battling spirit. We must do well to stay compact, as in recent weeks we have seen Genoa be very dangerous on the counter-attack and in the air.”

Parma are still mid-table, but have lost their last two Serie A games and are feeling the heat.

“Aside from the performance, this becomes a very important result,” continued Donadoni.

“We must not make the mistake of being too hasty in our search for the three points, as that can lead to distraction and spaces between the lines.

“At the same time, we have to attack constantly from all angles, both with strikers and the supporting players. That makes it difficult for your opponents to mark you properly.”
