Roberto Donadoni laments Bologna’s “defeat came from our naivety” and says Ladislav Krejci and Anthony Mounier are “struggling”.

The 10-man Rossoblu fell to a last-minute defeat to Udinese tonight, and the Coach was in no mood to make excuses for his squad.

“It’s a defeat which once again came from our naivety,” Donadoni fumed in an interview with Sky.

“We lost a man [Erick Pulgar] naively, then we had a wonderful opportunity straight after but it’s clear you’ll suffer with 10 men versus 11.

“We were able to contain them while giving a threat of our own, but you can’t allow a ball like that in the 93rd minute.

“It’s time to stop apologising, but we have to roll up our sleeves. You can’t lose three games with 10 men versus 11.

“We were naive in a situation on the wing. We didn’t challenge [Silvan] Widmer enough, and that’s where the goal came from."

Both Krejci and Mounier were substituted, and Donadoni feels both are struggling.

“The attackers could do more. I gave confidence to Krejci and Mounier as you saw. They’re players with potential, but right now they’re struggling.

“They don’t have the capacity to believe in themselves, sometimes they lose the ball too easily. There’s a risk of causing more tension, but right now they’re struggling.

“We’re too hasty when we get to the last third, we don’t have that peace of mind to try and play. We want to get rid of the ball almost too quickly.”
