Full-back Dodo has commented that Inter’s 2-0 victory against Atalanta in the midweek was inspired by anger felt from Week 3.
At the weekend the Nerazzurri drew 1-1 with Palermo to drop further points on the road this term, but bounced back at San Siro to defeat Atalanta yesterday evening thanks to goals from Dani Osvaldo and Hernanes.
“After the game against Palermo we were angry, we had drive. In the second half I think we deserved the victory, even though we took risks, but in order to win you have to take some risks.
“We started out strong,” the young ex-Roma explained.
“We met a team with excellent players and with an intelligent Coach, but later we all showed our character. It's a good victory.”
Dodo was asked about the fighting spirit that he has been showing on the pitch.
“I've always had this competitive meanness, and when you have players with such an important character around you like Juan Jesus and Medel, they inspire you. We're happy in each other's company, and this is important.”
The defender also had some comments about the free-kick taken by Hernanes which led to Inter's second goal, and which saw him next to the ball when it was taken.
‘Hernanes started from the bench, we're always there to take free-kicks and the Coach told us that I was going to take them today.
“But when he came on, we came to an agreement and it worked out well. It wasn't an easy position, he was very close to the box and there wasn't much space to bend the ball over the wall, we were trying to decide how to take that. It went well and we're all very happy.”
