Eugenio Corini says he saw enough promise from Chievo’s defeat at Sampdoria to leave him encouraged going ahead.

The Flying Donkeys were defeated 2-1 at Marassi in Week 4’s midweek clash, but their Coach saw good work from his visiting side.

“The first half was balanced and the teams battled,” reflected Corini afterwards.

“We needed to better manage some of the early plays to do harm to Sampdoria. The goal we conceded on 45 was born from an incredible situation, but I liked the reaction.

“Until the end of the game the guys have tried. In this spirit, the team can achieve what we have in mind.

“There is regret, we did deserve more.”
