Former goalkeeper Dida is excited for the Champions League quarter-final clash between Milan and Napoli, touching on an ‘atmosphere full of tension and joy, passion and fears’.

The Rossoneri booked their spot in the quarter-finals with a tense 1-0 aggregate win over Tottenham in the Round of 16, whilst Napoli flew past Eintracht Frankfurt with a 5-0 aggregate win.

Whilst many believe Napoli to be one of the favourites to lift the Champions League this season, their recent 4-0 loss to Milan has shaken the boat and raised some doubts.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Dida looked ahead to the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals between Milan and Napoli.

“It will be a beautiful night, in the Champions League there is this atmosphere full of tension and joy, passion and fears, nervousness and celebration.

“A full San Siro knows how to push like no other stadium in the world. I imagine an undoubtedly exciting challenge from start to finish.

“And I’m also sure that Milan will play a great game, because I see the desire of the whole team to do well in Europe and to show how strong this group is and how they can go even further than this.”

The other Italian team still in the Champions League, Inter, had a positive night in their quarter-final outing, securing a 2-0 win away to Primeira Liga leaders Benfica. The winner of that clash will face the victor of Milan-Napoli for a spot in the final.
