Bologna captain Marco Di Vaio is expected to sign a new contract with the club next week.

The 34-year-old striker has played a big part in keeping Bologna alive this season, scoring 17 times.

Di Vaio has already admitted that he plans to commit his future to the club.

"There is an agreement with the club to hear from each other next week and to put black on white to an agreement that is already ready," said Di Vaio's agent, Federico Pastorello.

"Marco wants to stay at Bologna, but for now the technical aspect is all that interests us. The renewal of his contract regards only the commitment of the player. We haven't spoken about eventual developments as a director.

"Perhaps in two years' time we'll still be talking about Di Vaio being in great form and wanting to keep playing, so we don't want to rule out anything."
