Antonio Di Natale warns Udinese they are “gambling with the sacrifices of last season” in the Europa League decider with Celtic.

The Friulani went into this competition via the Champions League preliminary round, but have fielded second-string sides so far in the group phase.

“It will be an important game for us, like a Final,” said the striker. “We will play to the best of our abilities to get through this round.

“As for whether I will play, that decision is down to the Coach. We will all give everything we’ve got, as we are gambling with the sacrifices we made last season to earn our place in Europe.”

Udinese will reach the knockouts as long as they avoid defeat at the Stadio Friuli to Celtic.

“It’s a difficult game and Celtic have many players with international experience. The best team will win, which hopefully is us.”

Di Natale has won the Serie A Capocannoniere charts for two years running and is back on top this season too, yet doesn’t seem likely to earn an Italy recall.

“It’s because I’m old, the Nazionale needs young blood and Cesare Prandelli is continuing with his group. I want to do well with Udinese, then anything after that is a bonus. It would be an honour to take part in Euro 2012, of course.”
