Dino Zoff thinks that sacked Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo could revive his coaching career in Serie A.

Di Matteo was axed this morning following his side’s 3-0 defeat at Juventus in the Champions League.

“It’s a shame,” Zoff, who bossed Di Matteo during their time together at Lazio, told TMW on Wednesday.

“He’s a man and a Coach who knows what is going on. Getting sacked happens, but he is an exemplary professional and he’ll know how to pick himself back up.

“Di Matteo is ready for anything. It may have ended badly at Chelsea, but facing this Juventus side is not easy.”

The 42-year-old was appointed by Chelsea in March and led them to Champions League and FA Cup success.

He started his coaching career at Milton Keynes Dons and had a spell at West Bromwich Albion.
