Empoli right-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo says he ‘can’t wait’ to join Napoli, play in the Champions League and work under ‘legend’ Carlo Ancelotti.
Di Lorenzo underwent a medical with Napoli on Thursday ahead of a €10m transfer, and he could hardly contain his excitement about the switch.
“I can’t wait,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Di Lorenzo underwent a medical with Napoli on Thursday ahead of a €10m transfer, and he could hardly contain his excitement about the switch.
“I can’t wait,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Playing the Champions League is the best. There’s crazy support for Napoli, everything will be special.
“There were all these offers and, for me, it was a source of pride to be looked at by the biggest clubs, but Napoli really wanted me.
“I look forward to meeting Ancelotti and being coached by him. We’re talking about a Coach who has won everything in every country he has coached.
“He’s a legend in football. It’ll be an honour for me to work with him. All his former players talk about him in a fantastic way.”
The 25-year-old was then asked about his winning goal against the Partenopei in April.
“It was an important win for Empoli in the relegation battle. I knew Napoli were tracking me and perhaps that afternoon, I gave them the impetus to sign me.”
