The Flying Donkeys were hoping to reach their first ever semi-final, but fell 1-0 at the Bentegodi.
“We gave it our all,” said the Coach. “This defeat really burns and it’s difficult to swallow, especially as we played attacking football and often made it difficult for Siena.
“Unfortunately, we paid the price for a single mistake. We tried everything to the very end, but an error in defence and our failure to convert chances proved fatal.
“Siena won and they deserve our compliments, but over the 90 minutes Chievo were certainly not inferior.”
