Sampdoria boss Domenico Di Carlo believes the club's young players can make a real impact against Metalist in this evening's Europa League clash at Marassi.

Di Carlo has chosen to field a young side against the Ukrainians, bringing in Guido Marilungo, Andrea Poli and Fabrizio Cacciatore.

"I have confidence in these youngsters and I have noted that our mentality is improving rapidly in recent performances," Di Carlo said.
"It's a decisive game. The team that has the most desire will win it. We must not let ourselves be surprised by the speed of their counter attacks."
Di Carlo refused to take any questions on Cassano, but did address the news that Nicola Pozzi has picked up a suspension in Serie A for swearing.
"It's absurd. He said that thing 20 minutes after the end of the game in Cesena in a corridor while he spoke with a teammate and ate a ham sandwich.
"We need more common sense."
