“It’s a long journey, but I can see the team has its own identity, courage and belief thanks to the daily work we do in training,” said the tactician who followed on from Lorenzo D’Anna and Giampiero Ventura.

“This will be a difficult match, one based on quality and intensity, as those are Parma’s strengths. It’ll be important not just to choose the starting XI, but also those who can come off the bench and shake things up.”

Luca Rossettini is suspended with Nicola Rigoni, Manuel Pucciarelli and Nenad Tomovic injured.

“I always said the most important thing of all was the warrior spirit, helping your teammates, defending the jersey and having the courage of playing to win every game, whether it’s at home or away.

“That is our objective and Chievo are improving, but must continue working to get there.”
