Gigi Di Biagio oversaw a 4-1 Italy victory in Slovakia on his debut, but the Coach was “not very happy with how we played.”

The Azzurrini were dominant in this evening’s international friendly, albeit with Slovakia down to 10 men for the entire second half.

“The result might seem impressive, but I am not very happy with how we played,” Di Biagio told RAI Sport.

“We need to improve a great deal and become more fluid in our style of play, not to mention more determined.

“I knew we could run into difficulties. It is the debut for me and many of the players, but we must always look at the football rather than the result.”

Di Biagio was the Under-20 Italy Coach and has made the step up with many of the players in today’s game.

He took over from Devis Mangia after the Azzurrini finished second in the European Under-21 Championship Final in June.
