“The positive result helps, but I would’ve been satisfied with the performance anyway,” the Interim Coach told Rai Sport.
“If you don’t see the right moves, people talk about character, but I can guarantee to you this squad has character.
“This is a team that always believed when 1-0 down, that on 1-1 tried to win it and controlled the game in the second half.
“England were dangerous only on the counter-attack, but we had a good overall performance.”
