The Azzurri failed to qualify for this summer’s World Cup, but face two prestige friendlies later this month at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium and then Wembley.

“I feel the same as I did when, until recently, I coached the Under-21s,” the caretaker Coach told Rai.

“I’m here to help the FIGC and the team, for the rest we’ll see. On my part there’s the serenity to deal with an important path.

“Beyond the prestige of the opponents, for me friendlies don’t exist so we need to play very good games and try to get results, that’s the first way to be reborn.”
