Gianluca Mancini has renewed his contract with Roma and he’s currently in talks for a further extension.

The 25-year-old Italian defender’s contract was automatically extended due to the achievement of certain add-ons included in his initial contract, which was due to expire in 2024. He is one of the most important and charismatic parts of Jose Mourinho’s squad in the Italian capital and he’s keen to win back his spot in the Azzurri squad after slipping down the pecking order.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Mancini is currently negotiating a further one-year contract extension with Roma, which would tie him to the club until 2027. Included in this would be a raise, with his salary possibly rising to around €3m net per season plus add-ons.

Mancini has made 30 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2669 minutes. In that time, he’s scored one goal and helped the side keep 10 clean sheets.
