Details behind Napoli’s contract offer to Victor Osimhen have begun to crop up online following news that the Nigerian international has said no to a recent proposal from Saudi Arabia.

The Serie A top goalscorer for 2022-23 is contracted to Napoli until the summer of 2025, but there had been widespread reports that he could be set to leave the club for an eye-watering fee this summer.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis has always remained adamant that he would like to keep Osimhen in Naples and would not entertain any offers under €180m.

Until now, there have been no official approaches for Osimhen, despite initial interest from the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

There is still reported admiration from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, but multiple reports claim that Osimhen has no intention of giving up on Champions League football in the immediate future.

Currently, and partly in thanks to ADL’s stubbornness, it appears a contract extension with Napoli is the most likely scenario.

According to both La Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.com, Napoli are prepared to substantially increase Osimhen’s wages from the current figure of €4.5m per season to somewhere around €7m-€7.5m.

Napoli would also like Osimhen to sign off on an extension until the summer of 2027 with the option of a further year.

There will also almost certainly be a release clause inserted into Osimhen’s new deal. Though an official figure has not yet been disclosed, Calciomercato believes that it could be in the region of €150m-€160m.

Yeah, FI, that stupid stubborn ADL who wants to keep his superstar players and team competitive rather than become a farm team for PSG, Bayern, and ManU. Sooooooo stubborn.
